Women Whose Races will be Decided on May 21st 

With the critical May 21st elections just around the corner, we at Her Term are feeling the excitement and pride that comes with supporting an amazing group of women candidates. These races are do or die; some are winner-take-all contests like judicial seats, while others have no Republican challenger. While we don't officially endorse any candidates, we're not shy about standing with the women who have turned to us for support and guidance throughout their campaigns. Let’s support them through this finish line, you can give to the group in one donation here.

County Seats:

-Brunessa Drayton (Cobb County Superior Court Clerk)

Brunessa is the kind of candidate you dream of: dedicated, focused and all about serving her community with integrity and transparency. She's got big plans to shake things up in the clerk's office, making services more accessible and streamlining processes left and right.

-Mecca Anderson (DeKalb State Court Judge)

When it comes to relevant experience, Mecca is in a league of her own. She's ready to hit the ground running to make sure courtroom proceedings are fair and efficient, and treat everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve. Mecca is the real deal when it comes to upholding the law and delivering justice without fear or favor.

-Mo Ivory (Fulton County Commissioner, District 4)

A dedicated community advocate and resident of Grant Park, Mo brings a diverse background to her campaign. As an attorney, law professor, and media personality, Mo aims to tackle crucial issues like public safety, affordable housing and criminal justice reform, making her a strong candidate for District 4.

District Attorney:

-Andrea Alabi (Gwinnett)

Andrea’s experience in the district attorney's office has given her firsthand insight into the reforms needed within our justice system. She has taken the courageous step to run for office, committed to making things right. 

State House:

-Sonia Lopez (HD96)

Sonia is on a mission to carry on the legacy of Pedro Marin, a true champion for the Latinx community. She's ready to step up as a leader, fighting tooth and nail for inclusivity and equity and to make sure everyone has a fair shot at success.

-Maggy Martinez (HD74)

Maggy is a force to be reckoned with: a retired teacher and former state legislator (PR-40) who knows firsthand what it takes to get things done. She's running for an open seat in District 74, and with her wealth of experience and deep community roots, she's poised to deliver innovative policies and common-sense solutions that tackle the real concerns of folks in Hampton, Lovejoy and Jonesboro.

State Senate:

-Terracia Wilkinson (SD28)

Terracia is an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and she's putting her impressive community connections to work in her energetic campaign to unseat an incumbent in a primary-only showdown. As a former chief of staff for a woman legislator, she knows the ropes and is ready to hit the ground running. Tee is all about amplifying the voices of the underserved and getting the community engaged and fired up.

-Nkoyo Lewis (SD38)

Nkoyo is a triple threat. A lawyer, former educator and entrepreneur, she's a mom, so you know she means business. She's running in a crowded primary for State Senate, laser-focused on making sure women's voices continue to be heard loud and clear in the chamber. With her diverse background and skills, she's ready to go to bat for her constituents on day one.

-Kenya Wicks (SD34)

Kenya is no stranger to the halls of power; as a former chief of staff, she knows how to get things done. Now she's running for State Senate herself, championing women's rights, reproductive freedom, voting rights and healthcare policies that work for everyone. With her inside knowledge and experience, she's the perfect person to represent her district with guts and grace.

U.S. Congress:

-Karen Rene (U.S. Congressional District 13)

Karen is a fierce advocate for the environment, economic development and working families. She won't rest until everyone has access to clean air and water, a living wage and paid family leave. With Karen in Congress, her district will have a strong, tireless voice fighting for them every single day.
