This spring, the state house and senate passed the Georgia mental health bill with near-unanimous bipartisan support. The bill, which was signed into law this month and becomes effective July 1, 2022, is aimed at requiring all health insurance companies to pay for mental health treatment.
The adoption of this sweeping legislation underscores the fact that, more than ever, our society recognizes the critical role that mental health plays in total well-being and the critical support that mental health care can offer every American.
Her Term supports this legislation and celebrates with Georgians of all genders for this step forward in ensuring we all have fair and equal access to wellness care.
This legislative news, sets a perfect backdrop for us to announce that Her Term is adding counseling services and support to the ever-growing list of free and discounted services we provide our candidates.
We’re proud to support our candidates with a diverse range of resources and are thrilled to make this exciting announcement. We believe all people – women, men, and non-gender conforming – are healthier, happier, more resilient individuals when they have the interpersonal support that counseling can provide as part of a total health routine.
